TEFLAustralia.com Listing Guidelines

To maintain a high-quality, user-friendly experience for our visitors - and to help your course stand out - please follow the guidelines below when submitting your listing.

These simple elements, when crafted well, can significantly improve click-throughs and build trust in your brand.

guidelines

1. Company Name:

As you'd like it to appear on the listing

(30 characters max, including spaces)

Keep it short and recognisable. This name will be the first thing visitors see - so use a clean, brand-friendly format (e.g. TeachFirst Sydney, not Teach First Training Centre Pty Ltd).

Aim for clarity over formality.

2. Image

A professional image that visually represents your brand or course

  • This will appear prominently beside your listing
  • We'll crop and resize the image to match our design layout
  • Choose a photo that feels modern, positive and relevant (classroom scenes, smiling trainees, teaching in action, etc.)
  • Don't have a good image? No problem! You can visit Shutterstock.com, pick an image and share the URL - we'll source the licensed version (free of charge) and take care of the rest.

Images create the first impression - choose one that invites users to click.

3. Title

Think of this as your headline.

Maximum 50 characters (including spaces)

Make it clear, specific and engaging. If relevant, use a location, course type, or unique selling point. You only get one line, so make it count.

Note:
  • Avoid vague or overly long names
  • Focus on what someone scanning the page would find useful

Examples (close to 50 characters):
"Accredited Online TEFL Course with Tutor Support"
- (49 characters)

4. Description

This short block is meant to grab attention and spark interest.

Maximum 125 characters (including spaces)

This is your chance to say what makes your course worth exploring. You don't have to write in perfect grammar - short phrases, sentence fragments, or creative punctuation are all okay if it reads well and gets the point across.

Note:
  • Highlight a unique benefit (location, format, timing, accreditation)
  • Feel free to use caps for emphasis or punctuation to create rhythm
  • Make it feel human, clear and inviting

Examples (close to 125 characters):
"Start your TEFL journey online or in-person – flexible options, expert tutors, certification accepted worldwide."
- (121 characters)

5. URL / Link

A direct link to your course webpage or site.

This is where visitors will go when they click your listing. Make sure it's a working, mobile-friendly page that gives them what they expect (details, pricing, contact info, etc.)

If possible, link directly to your course or landing page, not your homepage - this improves conversions and user experience.
